LANDING ON MARS
Starship will enter Mars’ atmosphere at 7.5 kilometers per second and decelerate aerodynamically. The vehicle’s heat shield is designed to withstand multiple entries, but given that the vehicle is coming into Mars’ atmosphere so hot, we still expect to see some ablation of the heat shield (similar to wear and tear on a brake pad). The engineering video below simulates the physics of Mars entry for Starship.

The timetable for implementation of the Mars colony is shockingly imminent: by 2025, a minimum of two cargo ships will land on the red planet, using robotics to begin setting up power, mining and life support infrastructure while confirming water resources and potential hazards. Just two years later in 2030, two ships will carry humans to the surface for the first time, who will build a propellant production plant and begin preparing the base for expansion.
The plan involves focuses the company’s energy entirely on one rocket, the SpaceX BFR, which will power the existing Falcon 7, Falcon Heavy and Dragon models to allow for the service of both the International Space Station and interplanetary missions.

Only Mars, he continues, is the logical choice. It is close by (in terms of outer space) and has enough sunlight, although it is colder than Earth, especially at night. Mars has a mostly carbon dioxide atmosphere, which although deadly to humans, could be very helpful in growing plants. The planet's gravity, about 37 percent that of Earth, would make it easy to lift heavy objects.
Musk admits getting to Mars and settling the planet will be expensive, and using traditional methods, such as those employed during the Apollo moon landings of the 1960s and 1970s, are not cost-effective. Also, using conventional spaceflight systems would cost about $10 billion per person, Musk says.
"If we can get the cost of moving to Mars to be roughly equivalent to a median house price in the United States, which is around $200,000, then I think the probability of establishing a self-sustaining civilization is very high.
Musk plans to build reusable rockets and spaceships that will be able to take as many as 100 people at a time to and from Mars.

the ITS will stand 400 feet (122 meters) tall. Musk says the ITS will be strong enough to put 300 tons (272 metric tons) into low-Earth orbit. The ITS rocket booster will be powered by 45 Raptor engines, which could accelerate the rocket to 5,281 mph (8,500 kph). Each ITS can be used 1,000 times.

In September, 2016, Elon Musk announced his ambitious plan to establish first human colony on Mars. After about one month, Elon Musk came to the public again announcing his new solar roofs as a new product by Tesla & Solar City (both are his companies). The new roof is covered by new-designed solar panels allowing our houses to depend on the sun for the power we need.

Solar roofs serving the individual house hold. On the large scale, Elon Musk is building solar utilities as well. A solar utility will is a solar plant that provides Electricity for residential & commercial needs.

During his presentation, Musk mentioned that there are about 240 million roofs in USA only, and a another huge number outside USA. That is a huge market, assuming few millions will acquire the new roofs, Tesla & Solar City will make a significant big fortune.
Sun is wonderful. In additional to being free & clean, Getting energy from sun is applicable for individual compared with other energy sources. For example, it is not easy to have you own wind turbine, but you can easily have you own solar panels on your roof.
Musk also announced plans for a new Earth-to-Earth transportation system that will also be powered by the rockets. Cruising at speeds up to 27,000 kilometers per hour, the system could take travelers between any two sites in the world in under an hour, with most popular long-distance trips reduced to about 30 minutes.
In parallel, world suffers from carbon emissions that causes pollution and global warming. Therefore, world really needs to start using clean energy sources.
